Winter steelhead fishing continues to be steady on the Siuslaw. The recent rains have created good conditions for steelheading this week as the river drops back into shape. Although past the peak of the run, there are still some nice bright fish around to be caught.

Anglers are reminded that Whitaker Creek is closed during the steelhead season and to target these fish near the confluence of the Siuslaw River. There is also a small hatchery release in Lake Creek (located at Green Creek) that provides opportunity to catch hatchery winter steelhead from December - March.
