The Lower Deschutes is fishing well. Stoneflies should be high on your list right now for nymphing with the hatch upcoming. Jimmy legs, Lexs improved stone, peacock stones etc will get the job done. Don’t forget about golden stones as they are very prevalent in the Deschutes. Running a double nymph rig with a big stone and a smaller caddis or mayfly imitation is a good way to approach fishing this time of year. Don’t forget the dries at home as fish have been rising well to caddis on some days. As always swinging a sculpin or crayfish streamer around is an effective and exciting way to get some eats.
