Crane Prairie is fishing really well and I can’t wait to get back there. I know our friend Keith went 2 days ago and did well on a Chromie he learned to tie at Phil Rowley’s tying clinic 2 weeks ago at FFP.
Besides Chromies, try Red Ice Cream Cones and Black Ice Cream Cones, Blood Worms, Water Boatman, Damsels, Leeches, Red 2 Bit Hookers and Black/Red Double Down. On an intermediate line, try a washing line with a Booby on the point and a Damsel Nymph on the Tag. If you are up to 3 flies (spread them 3 or 4 feet apart) a Leech, or Callibaetis nymph is good to mix in, and a Scud or Prince Nymph is a good choice too. The Booby will keep the other flies from getting in the weeds too often. Pick up the pace on the strip regardless.
The Deschutes Channel is a good starting point, but fish are being caught at Rock Creek, Quinn from the license plates to the last buoy at the ramp and Cultus.
