http://www.tributesportfishing.comHello Anglers, Today was another fantastic day at Guadalupe Island. With hot fishing first thing in the morning, a lot of anglers were caught off guard by Yellowfin in the 70 to 100 pound range. We did manage to catch some bigger bait last night, and it paid off big time. Being able to fish 60 pound line helped to keep the hook to land ratio on the positive side. The quality of the fish out here is outstanding, it's not common to hear of wide open Yellowfin fishing at Guadalupe in the middle of December. Heck, the fishing that we had today, rivals some of the best day's I have ever seen out here, regardless of the time of year. However, the bite did slow down just after lunch so we made a short move up the Island. Coming up to "Westy's" a well known area and a spot that bit good for us yesterday afternoon, we were pleased to see fish breezing up on the surface. After throwing a chum circle and seeing the fish really respond to the bait, we dropped the anchor. We had 3 fish hanging before we even settled back, and then more. The whole entire boat had fish hanging within minutes of dropping the anchor, fish between 30 and 40 pounds eating everything that swam by. Jason Fleck had 2 fish out of three casts on the surface popper, and they were also boiling on the "skip jig". The fish bit in to the dark, and right up until the dinner call was made. I am on my way down to have some seared Yellowfin for dinner, just as fresh as it gets. Same time tomorrow. Mike Pritchard.
