http://www.silverlakeresort.netFishing at Silver Lake and Rush Creek has continued to stay relatively steady despite the hot weather and the full moon that is upon us this week. The number of full stringers has slowed down this week but we have still had some great quality fish this past week.
The standard baits are all still working this week with Garlic and Salmon Peach Power Baits have been leading the way. The water temperature is about 54 degrees at the surface so think about taking your baits down to the cooler waters deeper and bringing it back to the top of the weed line at about 30 inches above the bottom. Worms have also being doing well early in the day or late in the afternoon when the sun is not beating on the water. Needle Fish have been catching some nice fish and Thomas Buoyants have always done well. Don't forget about trying to use some flies on a fly rod or on a spinning rod with a fly and a bubble.
This weeks catch of the week belong to Eric Brown of Manhattan Beach who landed a nice 2 pound 7 ounce Rainbow caught on Rainbow Power bait. Sammy Love of Yucauipa landed a great 4 pound Rainbow from the shore of Silver Lake using worms. Young Samantha Greci (age 6) of Mission Viejo had a great catch, landing a 1 pound 13 ounce Rainbow using Garlic Power Bait. The Lopez, Mora and Arriola Families landed a great stringer out on Silver Lake. Marcel Plouffe of Garden Grove caught a great 2 pound 10 ounce Rainbow on Rush Creek using Salmon Peach Power Bait.
Keep reeling them in and Happy Fishing!!
