Most anglers experienced some good fishing. Trolling from Cachuma to Santa Cruz Bay from the surface to 10' with flat-lined CD3 and CD5 Rapalas, as well as an assortment of spoons, has been providing limit to near limit catches of rainbows to 3 lbs. Shore anglers picked off a few in Harveys, and the Mohawk fishing pier casting Thomas bouyants and spinners. While bait soakers scored with inflated 'crawlers and doughbaits.

Bass fishing was fair for largemouth 20' to 30' on jigs, texas rigs, drop shot and small swimbaits. Some good smallmouth showed up in the count, although most were incidental catches while trolling for 'bows.

Some quality crappie are still coming out of the narrows on down-rigged Rapalas and threaded worms. A handful of catfish were caught, but locations were withheld. A few carp were spotted on top around the island, so hopefully we will have some good opportunities in the near future. All other species were slow.

Crappie fishing has been productive at times, and those trolling CD3 Rapalas in the narrows reported near limits, and slabs up to 2.5 lbs. This weeks trout plant......
