Report Date:
http://www.cortezcharters.comThis past week was nearly a repeat from the week before, albeit a few less fishing days and minus a couple of sharks and banana fish. Still, it was plenty exciting enough for the anglers and for those that fished the longer days, there were still billfish opportunities. The dorado are still in the area and ranging from 10-15 lb. fun sized fish to the trophy sized lunkers in the 50-60 lb. ranges.
The overall catch reports for the 35 days fished reflected 5 sailfish, 21 dorado, 20 blackfin tuna, 9 wahoo, 13 Atlantic barracuda, 42 bonito, (fish of the week) 11 Spanish mack3erel, 6 king mackerel, 3 amberjack, 3 grouper, 26 triggerfish and 5 snappers./
PM Climate: Partly cloudy but warm days and pleasant evenings with temps from 69 nights to 86 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions: Overall, a very good week with mostly light & variable surface breezes and stable 80 degree water temperatures.
Best Bait/Lures: The ever available ballyhoo baits continue to be the choice of the fishing crews and they are provided fresh on a daily basis.
Bait Supply: We have never experienced a single day without plenty of rig-gable baits for all of the boats fishing.
