We had a phenomenal day today, with excellent albacore fishing! The fish are 16-25 pounds, with the majority over 20 pounds. Most of the fish were caught on live bait with a few fish on artificial lures. There were plenty of jigstrikes. The black and purple Zuker lure with a amber head was the hot troll feather.
Long-time Searcher passenger Hal Guy, from Canoga Park, caught a limit of albies today. Hal had a great day.
We are headed for the coast to try for some yellowtail tomorrow for something different.
Great fun was had by all today.

Hello Anglers, Today we fished 90 miles south of San Diego. There was some good fishing for several boats in this area today. Unfortunately we had to work for every fish. We ended up with 42 albacore and 1 bluefin tuna. The encouraging thing is the distance between the areas of fish--it's about twenty miles with signs of albies throughout. The weather is good--less than 15 knots of wind and a 4-6 foot swell. Hopefully we can get the fish located early......
