Yellowtail Bonanza

We were fortunate to find an area today that was absolutely wedged with biting yellowtail. With all the warm water around, the bait situation has been a little rugged for a while. Simply put, sardines do not like hot water. Fortunately for us, this body of fish bit the yo yo irons as good as I've ever seen it. Wide open yellows and not a single bait hit the water. Gotta love it. Although just about everything was working, the old favorites like scrambled egg and blue and white Salas 6Xjr were doing the best. Sardine pattern 7x was the hot ticket for the surface iron. We are now close to trip limits on yellowtail and yellowfin with some bluefin, dorado, wahoo, grouper, and pargo also in the RSW well. Needless to say we are very happy with our catch so far. These early fall eight day trips are great for variety. We have two more days to see what else we can come up with, wish us luck.

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619)223-7493 to get in on the action.
