Summer has finally arrived in the Eastern Sierra as temperatures this weekend are at or near 80 degrees. After some colder, windier conditions early in the week, the warmer weather is a welcome sight. The fishing at Silver Lake has stayed relatively steady this week with some ups and downs. Several 3 to 5 pounders came in this week with the Fish of the week weighing in at an even six pounds. In fact the Rainbow was one of the "Outlaws" from the Trout Law Round Up. "Winky" who has been wanted since late last month was finally captured from the shores of Silver Lake on a Berkley Mouse Tail. Jerry Wedge captured "Winky" and was rewarded with some great prizes courtesy of the Eastern Sierra Fishing Coalition. Three members of the Outlaw gang are still at large in Silver Lake so make sure you check your catch for the special tag and you could win some great prizes.

Rush Creek this week has been on the slower side, due to low volume and some mossy areas along the banks. Some anglers have seen some results on Rush using Salmon Eggs, #18 Flying Black Ant or a #16 Ginger Quill. On the lake this week, we have seen some steady results from Thomas Buoyant, Berkley Mouse Tails or Garlic Power Baits. Water temperatures are starting to warm up so watch for the fish to start coming towards the surface of the lake in the next few weeks.
