Anglers have seen some great results from shore and boats catching limits of nice smaller Rainbows with an occasional larger one mixed in the group. With the weather starting to change and over night lows staying above the freezing mark, look for some dry flies and streamers to start to be popular with the trout. Keep things small and colorful on the fly patterns, look into a Sierra Brite Dot or some Black Gnats with a Red Tail in Dry Flies and start to think about trolling with some streamers like a Rainbow Hornberg or an Olive Matuka. Worms has still been the steady bet for still fishing from either a boat or the shore and Berkley Mice Tails – bright in color – have also seen some great results this entire season. As always Gold/Red Thomas Buoyant have done well as have Kastmasters with some color on them. Don’t be afraid to use whatever you have in your tackle boxes this time of year as no strong patterns have been really steady. Silver Lake (760) 648-7525
