Fishing at Shaver Lake remains good. We are still trolling the Point area at 85 to 87 feet down for a limit or two of kokanee in early morning and then shooting over towards Black Rock for a great mid morning trout bite. The kokanee are hitting the kokanee Trout Busters with a tip of corn, pink or orange Apex lures or other bright colored spinners behind dodgers for the kokes and trout. We still use trout busters with a tip of crawler and corn behind weighted Mountain Flashers on the side poles at about 20 feet down for trout. Jigging from a still boat is still working good near the old dam and the Point for kokanee. The trout bite is at it's best right now. Most trollers fishing the Point for kokanee are catching plenty of fish as well as trout trollers in the Black Rock area.
Ban fishermen are doing very well in the right places. I spoke with one fellow who caught his limit including two trophy sized trout near the old dam.
