Report Date:
http://norcal.fishreports.comThe trolling bite has picked up a bit, especially in the east basin. Big fish have have been chasing fast action lures like Speedy Shiners and Needlefish.
Mostly Rainbows, some small and some bigger, like 3 to 4 pounds and up to 23 inches long, These larger fish have been providing some great battles. The real bite has been developing deeper into the morning, our best fish started coming after 8:30 am as sunshine turned the water to a sparkling blue. I would expect that bite to push into the late morning, and early afternoon, as that moon phase is still big, but waning. Trolling lanes in some of the well known areas like Rocky Point, Canyon Dam, Big Springs, Rec.1, A-Frame, are reporting a few more decent fish. That great bite has slowed inside the Hamilton Branch. Fish are still in there, however that flow down the Hamilton Branch isn't much more that a big trickle, and the powerhouse is shut down.
