http://norcal.fishreports.comBeautiful weather and great trout fishing is the forecast for Shaver Lake this week. Although the water level is down to 47%, smaller boats can still be launched at the Sierra ramp and it is worth it. Dick Nichols of Dick's Fishing Charters says most trollers are limiting out at several areas of the lake. He likes the Stevenson Creek/Tunnel creek areas. He recommends fishing at about 20 feet down on side poles and 35 feet on the down riggers for some fast action from the rainbows. He says many in the area are yearling trout to 15 inches and some are hold over fingerling trout planted 4 years ago. There are some trophies back there too. Other good areas are in front the the island and road 2 point, all at the same depth. He recommends a crawler/ blade combination and still uses the Trout Busters tipped with a piece of crawler behind weighted Mountain Flashers at 20 feet deep. Bank fishermen have reported some action at roads 1 and 2 using Power Bait or crawlers. One angler told Nichols that he had immediate action at road 2 and within 3 hours had his limit.
