Bite slows at Shaver Lake

Catching fish at Shaver Lake has become much harder over the past few weeks, said Dick Nichols, of Dick's Fishing Charters in Shaver. The kokanee bite has not started yet with any continuity. A few may be found, but not much. No big fish were reported this week at the official weigh stations, Shaver lake Sports and Ken's Market. Bank fishermen have not had too much success, but a DF&W plant could help that. Roads 1, 2 and 3 are the best locations for bank fishing with Power bait or crawlers.
