Despite the high winds in the afternoon this week,many limits of trout,bass, and catfish were caught by arjglers of all ages. Three rainbows caught on the troll weighed in at 8-8.5lbs proving the dam is still the best area for trout. Kastmasters and Rapalas are absolute necessities this year for anglers wanting a trophy fish. The bass bit well this week at the mouth of Clark Canyon, the west side of E Point, and along banks by Drake Cove.Deep cranks and nightcrawlers consistently brought in both smallmouth and largemouth throughout the day. Multiple limits of channelcats were caught using cutmackerel and chicken liver baits. The back of Cachuma Bay, Johnson Bay, and SweetwaterBay held many 1-2 poundcatfish this week.

Trout, trout, and more trout coming in! A few more 71b+ rainbows were caught by the dam with the heaviest weighing 10Ibs even. Black and gold Rapalas have almost a 100% success rate though rainbow trout, firetiger, and silver are all working very well. Gold and chrome Kastmasters and Phoebes also brought in a decent amount of fish this week. E point and Harvey Bay have been hot spots for both smallmouth and largemouth. The trout fishing was nothing short of excellent this week. Four rainbows weighing 8-10Ibs were reported this week to top the charts. Among the countless fishermen catching limits was Santa Ynez Valley local Nick Giese, who brought in an 8.5 pounder to cap off his 30+ fish morning. Trolling CD-5, CD-7, and CD-9 black and gold Rapalas was the hot ticket for hooking onto the big trout. Small mouth bass were biting trolling lures just west......
