http://norcal.fishreports.comHamilton Branch is stacked with trout and anglers are shoulder-to-shoulder. Aquatic insect hatches are about done with just a few hatches popping off. Fish we have checked are feeding on smelt again. The bite has improved after 4th of July. Best bite has been early, then slows after 9:00 am. Expect the bite to go deeper into the morning as the moon disappears in the next day or two. The next two weeks here should be solid fishing. The best trolling lanes right now are. Rec. 1. To Big Cove, Rocky Point area, over the old river bed, Hamilton Branch and head south about 1 mile and back, 100 to 500 yards off the shoreline, Dorado to Lake Cove and back, Hamilton Branch to Big Springs, Big Springs to Big Cove, Canyon Dam and the east shore and Rec. 2 past Bunell Point toward the Fox Farm and back.
