Selmac was stocked with trout last week for the final time this spring. During Free Fishing Weekend and the event sponsored by Middle Rogue Steelheaders, lots of bluegill and bass were caught all around the lake and a number of trout were caught on powerbait right near the pumphouse at the boat ramp. Anglers were mostly fishing from shore using worms for bait, although a handful of boats were fishing, too. The largest fish caught was a bass that was just over 16” and weighed 2 pounds. Look for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and other warmwater species near structure along the shore.
