The Wilson will be open for retention of hatchery salmon but will be closed to wild Chinook retention for the remainder of the year due to low returns forecasted for the fall run. See the regulation updates for more information. There are no hatchery Chinook releases on the Wilson River, so numbers of retainable Chinook will be very low.

Summer steelhead are still available to catch in the Wilson River. The majority of fish are holding in the upper river this time of year. Fishing has improved a little with cooler temps and the coming rain should help as well.

Trout season is open through Oct. 31 and there are cutthroat available throughout the system.
