The Lower Deschutes has been fishing well. Nymphing is the most consistent method for picking up fish throughout the day due to the hot weather we’ve been having but caddis are around especially when the sun is off the water for the day. Having a nice variety of sizes and colors in your box for when the fish key into them is a good idea. When the fish aren’t feeding on the surface, a variety of caddis and mayfly nymphs have been effectively fished euro style or under an indicator such as Hares, Jigged Pheasant Tail, Psycho Prince, Duracell Jig, and Copper John Swinging sculpin and leech streams or soft hackles is also a fun way to get some grabs this summer.
