The Crooked river has been fishing really well especially compared to last year at this time. Nymphing has been great on scuds, two-bits, jigged leeches, balanced leeches, and caddis. Caddis have been hatching many afternoons and evenings as well and making for some fun dry fly action. Dry-dropper setups are always fun on the crooked in the summertime and fish will take terrestrials well. For the spey guys out there, swinging around small buggers and soft hackles is another fun way to get some eats on the crooked. Flows are right around 270 CFS and the fish are happy with the cool water being drawn from the depths of the reservoir.
