Crane Prairie has been fishing well but be aware of the hot surface temps which are usually sitting around the high 70’s. If you're going to fish, try to shoot for early mornings when the lake is at its coolest for your best chance of not only catching but also keeping those trout safe. Fish are channeled up now with the warmer water temps and have been coming on black, olive, and brown balanced leeches, blobs, chironomids, callibaetis and damsels. Stripping around a damsel on a hover or intermediate line is a good way to cover some water and find some willing fish.
