Walter Wirth Lake Updates

This urban lake usually gets stocked from about Thanksgiving through May. The rest of the year anglers can target bluegill and bass. It was stocked recently with about 1,500 hatchery trout and another 125 extra-large brood trout. As a reminder, only one fish out a 5-fish bag limit may be longer than 20 inches.

Walter Wirth is a 20-acre lake located within the City of Salem's Cascades Gateway Park with good access all the way around.
