Conditions are near perfect at Mazatalan and the fish are moving into the offshore waters

The water temperatures and overall conditions are near perfect for the Mazatlan area and the fish are slowly moving into the near offshore waters throughout the area. The overall fish counts for the offshore waters reflected 5 sailfish, 1 mako shark, 18 dorado, (to 27 lbs.) and 19 yellowfin tuna (12-18 lb.s). The inshore super pangas reported in for 7 days fished that reflected 4 black snook, 31 dorado, 20 red snappers, (to 20 lbs.) and 1 pargo.

Mazatln Climate: Mostly cloudy but warm days and scattered periods of sunshine. Temps ranged from 75 nights to 92 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Mostly light & variable surface breezes and surface temps at 87-88 degrees and stable throughout the area. Clarity is near perfect starting at about 12-15 miles south of the Marina El Cid.

Best Fishing Area: Starting at about 15 miles southerly from the Marina El Cid and outbound from there for the offshore fishing and at the buoys for the inshore dorado catches.

Best Bait/Lure: Rigged baits best for the billfish and feathers, Rapalas, Cedar plugs for the tuna and dorado. Mako caught on rigged bait.

Bait Supply: Consistently good for this area with both fresh rigging baits and live baits.
