"A late arrival for us today," reported skipper Kevin Osborne of the Intrepid October 9, "as we didn't get here until lunch time, an immediate and very smooth check in with the local navy personnel and we were on our way out to the fishing grounds. Picked up a couple of Wahoo and then crewman Dave Taylor spotted a large bird school out in the distance. We ran on it and got out ahead of them for a nice drift to get things started for us in the right direction. We boated 21 Tuna this evening with two over 200 pounds and a few others that were close behind."

The next day Osborne observed, "Our day started off just liked we had hoped with big fish biting right at gray light. We had another cow on the deck with the sunrise and then another nice one just under the mark. There are also some "filler fish" in the 40 to 60-pound range and some small grade that we released, but around 9 a.m. everything just vanished. We stuck it out for a bit before we took off looking for more sign. We didn't find much for the rest of the day except some troll fish, mostly smaller Tuna and a bonus Wahoo this afternoon. The evening bite never came and left us no option but to head out looking for better action."
