The flows on the Little Truckee got bumped up yesterday from 160 CFS to 204 CFS. These are pretty common flows for this time of year. When the Little Truckee gets over 200 CFS it fishes more like a big river. It is necessary to fish with more weight and a little heavier tippet if you are Nymphing. Fish will move out of the main current and into deeper slower water and along the edges of runs. It is nice to have more water in the river to spread the fish out some and clean it out a bit. Baetis or Blue Wing Olive's have been hatching, especially on non windy cloudy days. There are also still some small black Stone Flies around as well. Afternoons are the best time to fish like just about all our streams this time of year.
