http://www.silverlakeresort.netFishing has continued to stay steady with a nice stream of larger fish coming in over this last week thanks in part to a nice load of Alpers that were put into Silver Lake on Monday thanks to the Eastern Sierra Fishing Coalition. The ESFC has its "Trout Law Round Up" and Silver Lake is part of the round Up. Two tagged trout weighing over 5 pounds each were put into Silver Lake, catch those tagged trout and win some good prizes provided from local businesses in June lake and Mammoth. DFG also stocked this week so Silver Lake, Rush Creek and all the lakes in the June Lake Loop are primed and ready to go for another great week of fishing in the beautiful Eastern High Sierra.
A variety of different baits, lures and flies have been working great this week. From the shore of Silver Lake, try using Rainbow, Chartreuse and Florescent Orange with Garlic in it has shown great results, as has taking a worm to the bottom and floating it back up. Trolling a Green Wooly Bugger or Olive Matuka. Flipping a Thomas Buoyant or a Johnson Spinner has worked well both in a boat and from the shore, as has Berkley Atomic Tubes.
Eli Anaya of Chino Hills had the catch of the week landing a gorgeous 4 pound 15 ounce Rainbow using rainbow Power bait. Mike Dietrich of Riverside hauled in a 4 pound 3 ounce and a 2 pounder this week from Grant Lake using Gulp Power bait. Rush Creek saw some nice fish this week too as Terri Hawkes of Irvine brought in a nice looking 1 pound 12 ounce Cutthroat caught on Salmon Eggs. Greg Digiovanni of Little Rock caught a nice 4 pounder from the shore of Silver Lake using Salmon Peach Power Bait. John and Al Ash San Diego and Corona teamed up to land a 4 pound 4 ounce and a 3 pound 12 ounce Rainbows from a boat on Silver Lake using a Wooly Bugger. Ray Becker of Moreno Valley brought in a beautiful 3 pound 3 ounce from a boat on Silver Lake using a night crawler.
Silver Lake still is renting Full Day Boats and Motors for $45 for a full day and $35 for a half day rental and our café is open seven days a week from 7am to 2pm so come on out and enjoy great fishing and the beauty of Silver Lake and Eastern Sierra.
