http://www.countyofsb.org/parks/cachuma.sbcTrout fishing picked up last week for those who were trolling leadcore near the dam at 8 or 9 colors. Dodger/needlefish or dodger/crawler were taking hold/over Rainbows to 3.5 lbs.
Crappie action is still pretty good on the back side of Santa Cruz point on mini jigs tipped with mealworms and trolled C.D. 3 Rapalas.
Catfish are coming out of Martini Bay, Johnson's and Clark canyon. Cut mackerel and crawlers accounted for most of the Kitties. The bass fishing is a bit tough at the moment. Recent tournaments have had trouble getting limits. Bow fishing for Carp has been good very early in the mouth of Clark canyon.

The Catfish bite held up throughout the week. Using cut mackerel around Arrowhead Island and Cachuma Bay produced Kitties to 6 lbs. Santa Cruz Bay had a decent Crappie bite on mini jigs and trolled C.D. Rapalas. One angler reported getting a near limit catch of slabs in the 1 to 2 lb. range. The hot weather has most of the fish running for cover, except the catfish. The kitties came in from all over the lake last week. The best locations were Cachuma Bay and behind Arrowhead Island. Cut mackerel was the bait to use and accounted for catfish up to 8 lbs. Other productive areas were Johnson's Bay and Clarks'.
