Fishing has been steady but big fish are scarce. Lots of 10 to 14 inch stripers are being hooked and released. Limits of keepers are hard to come by. A few 24 to 26 inch stripers are being caught. Trout bite is starting to pick up. Anglers casting or trolling lures are getting fair results. An interesting result given the time of season. Largemouth bass also are becoming active in Cowboy Cove and South Cove. Spinner baits or Senkos will work. A plant of 7,000 fingerling largemouth were planted to help that fishery. (925) 371-2628
