The fishing on Silver Lake has been as good and steady as it gets. Even with a few days of wind and the fire near the village of June Lake, fishing has been great. DFW dumped in its weekly load of 800 pounds of catchable rainbows and we are still getting nice size rainbows weighing over 3 poundsk. The fish are still hanging out in the deeper water but should be working up towards the surface slowly over the next few weeks as the daytime temperatures begin to cool. Anglers have been successful with all colors of the Berkley Mice Tails, as well as Berkley Power Baits with any type garlic in it. Worms have also been showing some promise early in the day and late in the afternoon. If you like to troll, Tasmanian Devils and Rapalas have shown some good signs. Streamers like a black or green Matuka, or a rainbow hornberg have also seen some good results this past week. Silver Lake Resort will be closing this year October 13th. Silver Lake (760) 648-7525
