Lake Chabot bass bite takes off

Bass bite has picked up. The right side of the lake is holding largemouth. Soft plastics will get bass 6 to 9 pounds. Most are 2 to 3 pounds. Trout bite has slowed a bit. Best spots are near the island and Indian Cove. Don Thomas of Redwood City caught a 10.3 pound trout. Katie Roberts of Redwood City caught an 8 pound rainbow while trolling. A 7.8 pound bass was landed and released by Calvin Bleth of Castro Valley using Yamamoto worms. (510) 247-2526
