East and Paulina lake continue to fish well on balanced leeches, chironomids, callibaetis and damsels. Leeches paired with some smaller midges or chironomids has been great from what we hear. Stripping small buggers or baitfish patterns has also been producing some fish. East and Paulina are both seeing callibaetis hatches now, but East still takes the cake in that regard. While they may not be hatching like crazy, You’ll find that slow strips over the weed beds with callibaetis nymphs on a hover or emerger tip fly line, a fun way to fish this week. We have heard decent reports from Hosmer, but just like Crane Prairie it is best to fish it early AM or later PM. Callibaetis, damsels, and chironomids from what we hear, are the ticket. Fire restrictions lifted for the Wickiup Fire so accessing lakes should be much easier this week.
