http://norcal.fishreports.comShaver Lake experienced another good week of fishing and weather, with limits the norm under blue skies. Most of the guy's I spoke with this week found fish while trolling Shaver. Long time kokanee fisherman Art Richmond of Big Creek, found a good mixture of trout and kokanee near the dam. Among his catch and release fish were 8 kokanee. Not everyone is connecting with limits. I think those that aren't should experiment with their depth and color of lure being presented. One of the nice fish of the week was caught by Josh Segrue of Fresno, a 9.10 pound rainbow. Segrue was fishing from the bank at road 3. His catch was weighed and measure at 26.5 inches at Ken's Market this week. Bank fishing can be hit or miss, but it seems like someone shows up at one of the two official weigh stations in Shaver with a big fish each week. A 10.13 pounder leads the Herb Bauer/ Shaver Lake Visitor Bureau season derby. Ken's Market and Shaver Lake Sports are the two official weigh stations.
